EXPERTS will be shedding light on Winchester's history at a public lecture next week.
The speakers at Early Winchester in the Natural World are Prof Martin Biddle and Prof Keith Wilkinson.
Prof Biddle, who as director of the Winchester Research Unit, oversaw several archaeological digs between the 1960s and 80s, will talk about a forthcoming volume on the research with a talk called Winchester Studies 10: Why a volume on the environment?
Keith Wilkinson, professor of geoarchaeology at Winchester University, will speak on Boring the city: geoarchaeology of Winchester Prehistory.
This is the annual lecture of Winchester Excavations Committee.
The talks will be on Tuesday December 3 at 6pm at Hampshire Record Office on Sussex Street.
