Shoplifter ordered to pay compensation to Debenhams
A THIEF who stole a quantity of fragrances from Debenhams on an away trip to Winchester has been fined.
Dimitru Danut Cosofret, 24, was caught taking the items valued at £425, with a Florin Vargu, on August 10, Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard.
Cosofret, 24, of Bath Road, Thatcham, Berkshire, admitted the charge and was fined £186 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
No victim surcharge was imposed because direct compensation prioritised. There was no order for costs because of a lack of means.
