A SHOPLIFTER has been ordered to pay compensation to a Winchester boutique that he targeted.
David James Thorne, 37, of Jewry Street, pleaded guilty to stealing clothes valued at £192.45 from White Stuff on the High Street on July 22 as well as breach of an earlier conditional discharge.
Magistrates in Basingstoke imposed a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 10 days and the order for compensation of £192.45.
There was no victim surcharge or costs order because of priority for the compensation as well as a lack of means.
