POLICE are still hunting for a man after a doorman was taken to hospital following an incident outside a Bournemouth nightclub.

Witnesses described the incident as 'a riot' and claimed 'metal barriers' were thrown but Dorset Police said: "A fight involving around six or seven men broke out outside the Halo nightclub in Exeter Road in the early hours of Saturday morning

"A member of door staff had been struck with a piece of street furniture which had been pulled up.

"The casualty was then taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were described as non life-threatening."

They confirmed yesterday that the injuries to the doorman were considered 'minor'.

The incident was captured on the town’s CCTV cameras at 2.40am before being reported to police.

Officers attended and carried out a search for the main offender, however, they had made off from the scene.The police spokesperson said enquiries are continuing.

Halo were advertising 'a soundtrack of the best in RnB, Hip Hop and Dance Anthems from Halo resident DJ Jay Welch' on Saturday.

The Echo approached the nightclub's management for comment but at the time of going to press had not received any.
