WINCHESTER BID is looking for nominations of ‘local heroes’ to turn on the city centre Christmas lights.
The annual Switch On will take place on November 14 at The Broadway, hosted by Heart Radio’s Jonny Meah. There will be live performances from The Pilgrims’ School Chamber Choir, The Spitfire Sisters, Harestock Primary School Choir, Integr8 Dance, Theatre Royal Winchester, Rock Choir, Winchester A Capella, the University of Winchester Buskers Society and Body Translation Dance.
On the night, the countdown will begin just before 6pm, when the local heroes will help press the giant switch-on button that will light up the heritage city.
Nominations can be submitted at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KGX8F7J
Independent market stalls will line the Lower High Street in the run-up to The Broadway, where the main stage and the giant screen will be located. As an addition this year, there will be a Giant Inflatable Snow Globe installed in The Square from 2pm.
