WINCHESTER Cathedral opened its doors to the public for a special event as part of the national Heritage Open Days festival.
Last Thursday (September 19), guests were given free tours, talks and workshops, helping them learn more about the iconic building in the city centre.
The event began with evensong by the Cathedral Choir, followed by activities and displays throughout the nave.
Attendees could meet the stonemasonry team and those who look after the vestments, the music department, the head gardener, and other groups within the organization who make this church tick.
There were a number of craft workshops for children to get involved with, and the Friends of the Cathedral put up various displays.
The Boy Choristers also put on a short recital towards the end of the evening.
