SOUTHAMPTON residents are being asked for their thoughts on the future of St Mary’s Leisure Centre.

Following the opening of Southampton Solent University’s new sports complex, the arrangement with Southampton City Council for the University to operate St Mary’s Leisure Centre will come to an end later this year.

Now is your opportunity to help the council assess the vision for the future of St Mary’s Leisure Centre.

The council are asking how residents think St Mary’s facility should operate in the future to work best for the local community and the wider city.

Cllr Satvir Kaur, cabinet member for homes and culture at Southampton City Council, said: “We are keen that St Mary’s Leisure Centre continues to serve its local communities now that Southampton Solent University are moving on to their new facility.

“It’s great that we’ve already heard a wide range of views from lots of local residents and community groups as part of this consultation.

“I would encourage anyone who hasn’t given us their views yet to do so before the deadline this Sunday, September 8, by taking the short survey on our website.”

The centre was previously run as an indoor sports and leisure venue by Southampton Solent University.

The deadline for completing this questionnaire is Sunday, September 8.
