THE majority of residents in the West Hampshire area are happy with their GP, new figures have revealed.

People living in the region of the NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which covers areas such as Winchester, Southampton, Eastleigh, Totton and Romsey, were, overall, the happiest with their GP Surgeries.

The average overall satisfaction for GPs in the area was 87 per cent.

Dr Sarah Schofield, chairman of NHS West Hampshire CCG, said: “We are delighted that 87 per cent of our residents have rated their GP practices as Good or Very Good.

“This is above the national average and we will continue to work with our Primary Care Networks to share best practice across West Hampshire.”

Eastleigh MP Mims Davies, praised the CCG’s efforts. She said: “Its really good news West Hampshire CCG is rated above the national average for GP satisfaction ratings.”

The highest rated with West Meon Surgery in West Meon with 99 per cent satisfaction.

One of the highest scorers in the Winchester area was St Clement’s surgery in Tanner Street, where 89 per cent of patients rated it as Good or Very Good.

Alresford Surgery scored 95 per cent; Wickham 94 per cent; Stockbridge 92 per cent; Bishop’s Waltham 91 per cent.

The Gratton in Sutton Scotney scored 84 per cent.

The lowest scoring surgery in the region was St Lukes in Hedge End with 39 per cent.
