THESE aerial photographs taken by a drone show the progress being made on the new sports and leisure centre at Bar End.
The photo was taken by Soen Trueman and clearly shows the size of the development off Bar End Road and next to the athletics stadium and Chilcomb House.
In recent days since the photo was taken, the steel structure of the £38 million scheme has started to go up at the top of the site. The car parking area will be the land closest to Bar End Road.
Despite the height of the photo the fact that the six lanes of the M3 is invisible shows how successful has been the planting scheme since the road through Twyford Down was completed in the early 1990s.
