HUNDREDS of year 11 pupils from across Hampshire were collecting GCSE results today.

Students from Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester, Romsey and the New Forest were celebrating with cheers, tears and hugs today when they received their GCSE results.

At Bitterne Park School, a total of 72 per cent of pupils attained a grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

Nearly a quarter of pupils achieved a 7+ in either English or Maths.

115 pupils sat a vocational course of which 31 per cent achieved a Distinction or Distinction *.

At The Romsey School a total of 75 per cent of pupils from The Romsey School have attained a grade 4 or higher in English and Math.

Some 34 per cent of all pupils achieved at least three or more grade 7s or above, and 25 per cent achieved 5 or more Grade 7+ grades.

At Ballard School a total of 87 per cent of pupils achieved at least five grade 9 to 4 passes.

In English and Math, 97 per cent of students attained a pass, and Physics saw a 100 per cent pass rate.

Many of Ballard School’s pupils have gained at least one grade 9 and 7.

At King Edward VI School a total of 99.2 per cent of the IGCSE results awarded to students were at a grade C or above, with 77 per cent of all grades at A and A*.

Some 92 per cent of all grades taken were awarded at A*, A or B, and 99.3 per cent of students obtained the minimum 5 GCSE passes including IGCSE Maths and English.

At Mountbatten School a total of 28 per cent of students achieved a grade 7, 8 or 9, and 84 per cent of students attained a grade 4 to 9 in Maths.

A total of 79 per cent of students gained a 4 to 9 in English.

At St. Anne's School more than half of the students at the school achieved at least one 7 or above, and just under a fifth of students attained at least one grade 9.

A total of 77 per cent of the year 11 class gained a standard pass in English and Maths.

At Noadswood School a total of 73.4 per cent pupils gained a grade 4 or above and 53.2 per cent gaining a grade 5 or above in the basics of Maths and English, figures that are around ten per cent higher than last year.

At The Henry Beaufort School a total of 80 per cent of students attained a grade 4 or above in three core subjects.

More than 80 per cent of students attained a grade 4 or above in Maths and 82 per cent attained a grade 4 or above in English.

Students achieving a grade 4 or above in both Maths and English is 78 per cent, a 2 per cent increase on this time last year.

Students at Cantell School are celebrating their success after 59 per cent of students secured a standard pass in both English and mathematics GCSEs.

A total 38 per cent of students secured a strong pass in both English and mathematics.

At St Swithun’s a total of 30 per cent of entries achieved the top grade 9 and 60.2 per cent graded 9,8, or A*, both increases from 2018.

More than 80 per cent of all results were graded 7/A and above.

Half of the students achieved seven or more grades 9/8/A*, with 12 pupils gaining grades 9/8/A* in all their subjects, three of who achieved straight grade 9s.

Totton College students who have to re-sit their GCSE exams in English and maths receive excellent tailored support from experienced and skilled staff to enable them to take their important next step.

Many students also take Functional Skills exams in maths and English at level 2, equivalent to a GCSE with results for these expected to be published later in the year.

Students’ overall achievement rates for Maths and English GCSE re-sits continue to exceed national rates, while an increased number of adult learners have passed their GCSE exams this summer.

At Oasis Academy Lord's Hill 38 per cent of students achieved a grade 4-9 in English and Maths, with 26 per cent gaining grade 5-9.

Students performed exceptionally well in a number of GCSE subjects, with more than 75 per cent achieving grade 4 or above in Art, Dance and Polish.
