WINCHESTER’S famous painted bollards have been undergoing a spruce-up.
Jenny Muncaster and Rachael Lancaster, members of the Hyde-based Colour Factory, have been hard at work over the last week retouching the 22 bollards in The Square area of the city centre.
Each one is painted in the style of a different famous artists from Toulouse-Lautrec to Klimt and Turner to Mondrian.
The bollards were originally commissioned around ten years ago by the city council to help boost the attractiveness of the city centre.
The Winchester Business Improvement District has also been involved in funding.
Meanwhile, a second series of Winchester School of Art-graduate Jenny’s TV show, The Artist in You, is in the production stage for Amazon Prime.
The show encourages people to believe in their own artistic talent and rediscovering the pleasure of creating.
