A MAN is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court today after being charged with the murder of a Gosport woman.

Brendan Rowan-Davies of Haslar Road has been charged following the death of Kelly-Ann Case.

The 28-year-old previously appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Three other men were arrested in connection with the investigation.

A 32-year-old man from Gosport was released from custody but remains under police investigation.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed abode and a 28-year-old man from Gosport were released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Friends and family who have been described as “heartbroken” paid their tribute to Kelly last week.

Posting on Facebook, friend Katie Anthony said: “I’ve cried for six hours non stop. I miss you girl, I promise me and mine will watch out for your family. Hand on heart, I’d give every limb to have you here. I love you. If you love or miss someone, please let them know. Put aside your differences, appreciate everyone you care for.”

Her family said: “Kelly was lively and vibrant and we’ve lost our best friend. She was a daughter, mother, sister and auntie and we are thinking of her.

“Please respect our privacy at this difficult time.”

The body of 27-year-old Kelly of Grange Crescent was found by firefighters following a fire at her home last week. Emergency services, including Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, rushed to the incident which was initially described as a “small kitchen fire”.
