A DRINK driver has been banned after being found nearly four times the legal limit.

Cherrie Harris, 53, of Abbey Road, Medstead, was caught by police driving a Mercedes near her home on Abbey Road on April 20.

Her alcohol reading was 129 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35.

She admitted the charge and also one of driving with no insurance.

Magistrates in Basingstoke disqualified her from driving for 30 months and ordered she undertake 100 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months. There was also a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 25 days.

An £85 victim surcharge and £100 towards prosecution costs was also imposed.

The ban will be reduced by 229 days if Harris passes an approved course by January 22 2021.
