POLICE are appealing for dashcam footage after a teenager was assaulted and taken to hospital.

The 16-year-old victim suffered multiple facial injuries in the assault, which took place in The Square, Pennington, on Monday between 6pm and 6.30pm.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital and treated for his injuries.

Police are still trying to establish exactly what happened and are hoping the incident was caught on camera.

A police spokesman said: "A 16-year-old boy suffered multiple facial injuries.

"Do you have any CCTV that covers this area? Were you driving through at this time, and could you have caught something on dashcam?"
