WINCHESTER CTC, the local group of Cycling UK, has been recognised as the UK’s best cycling group.
Cycling UK, the national cycling charity, awarded the Winchester group its 2019 “Best Cycling Group” award.
The award notes: “Cycling UK member group Winchester CTC, ably led by long-term secretary Sue Coles, is a shining example of a well-run and inclusive cycling club
“ It now has around 90 ride leaders and puts on a wide variety of rides and events for people of all ages and abilities.”
Sue told the Hampshire Chronicle: “I am delighted that our success has been recognised by our parent organisation.
“Cycling is a route to a healthier, happier and more sustainable world. It is also great fun.
“We have a great team of volunteers in and around Winchester, and over the summer we offer five rides a week.”
Details of the group’s activities and rides are available from their website winchesterctc.org.uk.
