DASH through 5k of coloured foam in this family-friendly charity fun-run.

There are just two weeks to go until the Southampton Bubble Rush, which will be raising funds for The Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity.

Fundraisers at The Ickle Pickles are hoping that families from Southampton and the surrounding areas will sign up for the foam-filled 5k family fun run which will take place Wide Lane Sports Ground, Eastleigh on Sunday, July 14.

Co-founder Rachael Marsh said: “Ickle Pickles are the smallest and sickest babies who need intensive care in neonatal units.

“They can be full term babies (40 weeks) requiring treatment or surgery, or babies born prematurely (before 37 weeks).

“Babies born before 27 weeks are classed as extremely premature and it is often these tiniest babies who need the most help.

“Funds raised by Bubble Rush will be used to purchase equipment for hospital neonatal units in Hampshire, including the Princess Royal Hospital in Southampton.”

It starts in a sea of foam, and along the course are four bubble stations pumping out masses of coloured bubbles.

The event not a race, and it will therefore not be timed and there is no pressure to run. The two-lap course is pushchair and wheelchair-friendly, so everyone in the family can take part.

Registration for the event opens at 9.30am on July 14 and the run will start at 11.30am.

There is no minimum fundraising requirement to take part, but The Ickle Pickles are asking people to get sponsored or make a donation to show their support for the work of the charity.

Tickets for Southampton Bubble Rush can be purchased online until Thursday, July 11.

Tickets cost £20 for an adult, £10.00 for children aged 3-15-years-old and there’s a family discount for two adults and two children at £13.50 per person.

The entry price includes a Bubble Rush t-shirt to wear at the event and a finisher’s medal. Under 3’s can take part for free.
