AFTER five years of fundraising and three gruelling ultra endurance challenges, Southampton FC legend Francis Benali broke his fundraising target of £1,000,000 for Cancer Research UK.

For his most recent challenge, IronFran, Franny and his team completing seven Ironman distance triathlons in seven days.

This mammoth effort saw Franny take on a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle and a 26.2 mile run every single day for seven consecutive days.

Franny successfully finished four Ironman triathlons in four consecutive days but was pulled from the challenge on the fifth day due to health concerns.

During IronFran, Franny and the team were supported by various sponsors who provided incredible support throughout the challenge.

The Benali family held a meal to express their gratitude for everyone’s contributions to the challenge that saw Franny break through the £1million mark.

Franny said: “IronFran would not have been possible without the incredible and generous support of all of our sponsors.

"We wanted to get everyone together and host a fantastic evening at Kutis to express our heartfelt thanks for everything they have done in making the challenge possible.

"It was a great time to all reflect together on the challenge.”
