TRIBUTE has been paid to a motorist who died following a collision in Southampton.

Anthony Hurst, 67, of Seagarth Lane, Southampton, died following the collision on Lordshill Way.

The collision, which happened at 6.30pm on June 28, involved the silver Vauxhall Corsa Mr Hurst was driving and a bus.

Today his family have paid tribute to him.

In a statement released through Hampshire Police they said: “Tony was a loving husband, father and grandad.

“This collision has come as a great shock to his loved ones and his friends, who are all grieving his sudden loss.

“We would like to thank the emergency services and send our thoughts to those involved.”

The 34-year-old driver of the single-decker First bus was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Ten passengers also received minor injuries and were also treated at hospital.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and we are continuing our appeal for witnesses or any dash cam footage.
