POLICE have launched a hunt for a driver who failed to stop after a crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Officers say that at around 11pm on Sunday, June 23, an unknown vehicle thought to have been travelling northbound was in collision with a pedestrian on Christmas Hill in South Wonston, opposite the junction with Connaught Road.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene, with the pedestrian, a 27-year-old man, sustaining a broken leg and wrist.

PC Stephen Eadsforth said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area of Christmas Hill at the time of the collision to make contact with us

"Did you witness the collision? Did you see any vehicles making off from the scene?

"I would urge anyone with information to call us on 101 quoting 44190216853.”
