FOLLOWING a storming 2017 show, Special Kinda Madness return to Winchester this Saturday, performing an authentic set with music from The Specials and Madness.

Combining the phenomenally energetic stage presence of The Specials with the wonderful iconic tunes of the Madness ‘Nutty Boys’, this show will have the audience up and dancing from the off.

Doors to the Guildhall will open at 7pm and tickets can be booked online, or by emailing guildhall@winchester.gov.uk.

JOIN a guided walk exploring the route of Winchester’s lost railway, the old Didcot on Saturday.

Follow the guide as you discover the Newbury and Southampton line which takes you inside the disused Chesil Tunnel.

The walk includes a high number of stairs and uneven footing.

All tours will last an hour and a half, and start at the Tourist Information Centre.

JOIN Jon Jenkins, one of the stars of 2018’s Great British Bake Off, who will demonstrate and teach Patisserie skills at Lainston House this Saturday.

The course will cover puff pastry, crème patisserie, piping and feathering, fruit compote, choux pastry, crème diplomat and sweet shortcrust pastry.

Curated by Alice Maude-Roxby and Stefanie Seibold, 'Resist: be modern (again)' explores the practices of women artists, designers and writers of the 1920s and 30s through the work of contemporary artists.

These early pioneering women were important ground-breakers for their time, many of their ideas are reverberating until today.

Their battles against social conventions and aesthetic dogmas paved the way for today’s understanding of an expanded field of art, as well as for contemporary personal freedoms.

UK GRUNGE pop band Hands Off Gretel have announced their 17-date UK summer album – and Southampton is on the list.

Known for their Gwen Stefani-style swagger, the band self released their sophomore album “I Want the World’ in March on their own label, Puke Pop Records.

Hands of Gretel will headline the 1865 in Southampton on Saturday.

RESIDENT drummer Ted Carrasco leads an all star band in a special appearance at SMJC this Sunday.

Carrasco has assembled some of the finest musicians in the country for a one off performance ahead of a workshop and concert performance at King Edward VI school on the following Monday.

Individually, the members of the group have played with some of the biggest stars in Rock/Pop/Soul/Funk/Jazz and Ska music.

The musicians perform frequently with top Jazzers in Europe as well as touring and recording with the likes of Chaka Khan, Olly Murs, Michael Kiwanuka, Kylie Minogue and many more.
