A SOUTHAMPTON woman who stole clothes from two popular high street clothing stores has been banned from their shops nationwide.

Samantha Jane King took two hooded tops, worth £78, from Hollister in Westquay on May 4.

On the same day, the 48-year-old stole seven t-shirts belonging to Jack Wills in Southampton, worth a total of £146.

King also stole five t-shirts from Hollister, worth £140, on May 1 and a variety of clothes, worth £197, from the same shop on May 3.

She pleaded guilty to four counts of theft, during an appearance at Southampton Magistrates' Court.

King, of Millbrook Road West, was made the subject of a 12 month community order and banned from any Jack Wills or Hollister in England and Wales for the same period of time.

She was also ordered to pay compensation totalling £337 and a victim surcharge of £85.
