A DRINK-driver who was more than twice the limit has been banned from the roads after being stopped by police in Winchester.
Peter James Wheeler pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court after being caught by officers on Garnier Road on May 16.
The 24-year-old, of Crowhurst Mead, in Godstone, Surrey, gave a reading of 96 microgrammes of alcohol when he was stopped in his Skoda Citigo. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
As well as banning Wheeler for 24 months, he was fined £705, and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £70 victim surcharge.
