A LONG neglected Winchester house is being brought back to life by the city council.

The three-bedroom property at Harrow Down, Badger Farm, was left empty for a long period and was falling into disrepair.

The city council received a number of complaints due to overgrown vegetation and fly-tipping at the property.

Following a 12-month legal process, the council was granted an interim empty dwelling management order (EDMO), which means it can undertake work on the property and bring it back into residential use.

The move is part of the drive to identify long-term empty properties to bring them back in to use.
