RESIDENTS are among those being turned away from Rhyl's new £15million waterpark due to its popularity.
As a way of appeasing customers who have been put on a waiting list or have been turned away from SC2 during peak times, Denbighshire Leisure has launched a new 'local loyalty offer' - a 50 per cent discount - which can be used outside the peak season.
Those wanting to take advantage of the discount must quote a discount code and show their Denbighshire leisure card at reception.
The offer will run during term time from 4pm to 8pm every Wednesday to Friday for the TAG Active arenas and between 6pm to 9pm every Friday evening for the waterpark.
The Boomerang - one of the flumes
SC2 posted on Facebook: "We hope this [the offer] will contend with any disappointment from our local customers who have had to be turned away or put on waiting lists during their weekends or at peak visits due to a high number of visitors at SC2".
The waterpark opened in April. The attraction boasts Tag Junior, the first in the UK as well as Tag Active, the first in Wales.
Flumes in the waterpark include the Boomerang, Speedster and Anaconda.
There is also a water wheel and a Piranha Play area for little ones and an outdoor splashpad.
Jamie Groves, head of Facilities Assets and Housing at Denbighshire County Council, said: “We are very proud of this exciting new attraction and first class facility, and we want our local community to have the best all-round experience.
