THE finalists for the 2019 Winchester Business Excellence Awards have been announced.

The awards are organised in partnership by The Hampshire Chronicle, Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Winchester BID and were open to businesses within the Winchester District to recognise their achievements.

This year’s event is overall sponsored by Simply Health, and the category sponsors are: Brewin Dolphin, Dutton Gregory, HWB, Paris Smith, University of Winchester, Winchester BID and Winchester City Council.

Head judge for 2019 is group managing director of Winchester Motor Group and chairman of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce Winchester Business Strategy Group, Mark Mills-Goodlet.

He said: “These awards celebrate and showcase the best of business in this area. We believe it is important to highlight the many companies, across myriad sectors, which make such a huge contribution to our economy.

“We were delighted to receive an exceptionally high level of nominations this year which is a clear reflection of the quality of the businesses in our area.”

Mark was joined on the judging panel by associate editor at LOCALiQ, Andy Martin, Winchester BID executive director, Paul Spencer, and representatives from NatWest, Simplyhealth and the category sponsors.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at Winchester University on June 6.

The evening presenter is to be Jeremy Edwards,from Cool, Calm and Confident, and comedian Shappi Korsandi will appear as the guest speaker.
