A WINCHESTER secondary school has officially launched its Business Network scheme.

Henry Beaufort in Harestock welcomed representatives from local companies to the launch, where attendees were given a campus tour before meeting Year Ten students to discuss career paths.

David Hewlett, of the school’s network, said: “The students took great pride in showing off their facilities and speaking with great enthusiasm about their aspirations.

“The network attendees also got the chance to meet and make new connections with other local businesses. It was a great first event for the network.”

The scheme has been established to provide staff and students the chance to engage with the business community and find mutually beneficial opportunities for working together.

Headteacher Sue Hearle said: “We were pleased to host the first meeting of The Henry Beaufort Business Network. We are looking forward to working together with businesses to enrich the education of our students as we prepare them for the world of work.”

“The network will also provide its members with a depth of understanding about their future workforce and the skills they can bring to their organisations.”
