HAMPSHIRE road chiefs have announced plans to salt some of the county's major roads this evening.
Hampshire County Council say temperatures are set to drop tonight and into tomorrow morning.
That's despite daytime temperatures reaching highs of up to 13C in part of the county today.
But weather experts expect temperatures to plummet overnight, with temperatures falling as low as 1C in parts of the county by around 4pm.
A statement on Hampshire Highways twitter page said: "Despite the sunshine today, temperatures are due to drop this evening.
"We will be salting priority 1 routes in north and central domains from 7pm.
"Currently looks like road surface temperatures in the south will remain above zero."
