FAMILY support charity Home-Start Winchester is looking for more volunteers to join its events team to help with fundraising.
Home-Start Winchester chairman Liz Cooper said: “We are a merry band and have great fun organising events like tennis tournaments, quizzes, dog walks, golf tournaments and literary evenings with the likes of Dame Judi Dench.
“We meet once every six weeks or so, depending on what events are coming up and meetings are always very lively.
“Like many charities across the UK, Home-Start Winchester has to compete with other organisations in an ever increasingly competitive funding market, though we have been fortunate to receive funding from BBC Children in Need and Winchester City Council but we must still raise nearly 85% of our income from grants, trusts, individual donations and fundraising.”
