THE deadline is looming to give everyday heroes in Basingstoke the recognition they deserve.

Nominations close for the 16th A Place to be Proud of Awards on Friday, 22 March.

The awards celebrate unsung heroes and nominations are invited for individuals, organisations and projects that have made a special contribution to the community.

There are a range of categories:

  • Young Role Model Award – Queen Mary’s College and Breeze
  • Community Project Award – Face TV
  • Inspiring Teacher Award – Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council
  • Business and the Community – Basingstoke Together
  • Volunteer of the Year Award – Gazette Newspapers
  • Green Community Award
  • Above and Beyond Award

Finalists will be invited to the awards ceremony to be held at The Haymarket Theatre on June 6.
