PLANS have been approved to turn a former police station site near Winchester into affordable housing.
Planning permission has been agreed for the city council to demolish the old Twyford Police Station on Dolphin Hill to make way for two new dwellings.
Winchester City Council leader and Portfolio Holder for Housing, Cllr Caroline Horrill, said: "I am delighted that we can press ahead with providing new affordable housing.
"Every affordable home matters in our district and this will contribute to our ambitious plan to build 1,000 new homes over the next ten years."
Construction work will start in Spring.
