STUDENTS taking a further subject at Peter Symonds College have received grants in support of their projects.

The Symondians’ Association has donated to the twelve students studying the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is an additional qualification equivalent to half of an A-level.

The group has supported students working on EPQs for a number of years, and for the 2018-19 students they have doubled their previous grant, awarding a total of £1,000. Individual grants range from £30-£130.

Adrian Barnes, chairman of the Symondians’ Association, said: “The inventiveness of these students’ projects is impressive but I was also impressed by how they presented them with aplomb and style.

“Credit should also be given to the staff and parents who supported them.”

The EPQ gives students the opportunity to choose to either produce a dissertation, an investigation report, a performance, an event, a design, or an object.
