A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a car near a Hampshire cemetery.
The collision, which is being described as "serious" by police, happened on Alresford Road, Winchester, outside Magdalen Hill Cemetery.
The road is currently shut and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "As a result we have placed closures on the road which will remain in place for approximately three hours while we safely conduct enquiries at the scene.
"Please avoid the area until further notice and thank you for your patience.
"If you witnessed the collision or have any information, please call us on 101 quoting incident 369 of today’s date."
