A FESTIVE drink or three has seen Malcolm Cockayne banned for 22 months after he was caught above the alcohol limit in St Cross.
Cockayne, 58, was stopped on Garnier Road on Christmas Eve by police whilst driving a 06-reg Vauxhall Astra.
His alcohol reading was 89 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35. Cockayne, of Manor Road, Pitt Village, off Romsey Road, was fined £160 with a £30 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
The disqualification will be reduced by 167 days if Cockayne passes a course by April 20 2020.
