THINGS got heated at a fundraising event for two Hampshire youth charities, as fire walkers raised over £3,000 for two local hospices.
Staff from Naomi House and Jacksplace invited attendees to brave a sponsored walk over the coal pathway, which was heated to around 600 degrees celcius.
It was hosted at the Winchester Holiday Inn, and saw 25 local residents take up the challenge.
A spokesperson for the hospices said: “We would like to say a huge well done and thank you to every single fire walker who took part and for being a part of our very first fire walk, it was a truly unique evening.”
The organisers had originally planned to run a sponsored ‘Lego Walk’ alongside, but had to cancel it due to a lack of interest.
