ONCE AGAIN a team of volunteers has undertaken another action day this time in the Somers Close Recreation Ground.
Winchester City Council Tenant participation Team, Winchester City Council Neighbourhood Services Team along with Neal Allison, community investment manager from Osborne Property Services and Winchester Hub / Student union all gathered together to set up the work programme for the action day which had 1,000 snowdrop bulbs planted, two football goal painted, two park benches painted and a big litter pick around the Recreation Ground.
The paint used at the action day was provided by Jewsons at Winnall.
Local ward councillor Jamie Scott said: “I would like to thank everyone who turned up at the action day in Somers Close and did such a brilliant job. Partnership work does make a real difference in communities like Stanmore and I was so please to be part of the action day which really was fun with the sun shining”.
The initiative is part designed to foster good relations between Stanmore residents and the students who live on the estate.
