THE SPORTING achievements of a Hampshire community have been recognised at an awards event.
The ninth annual Eastleigh Sports Awards took place toshowcase some of the achievements of talented athletes, dedicated players, teams, volunteers and officials from the town.
Lou Gittens, Chair of the Eastleigh SPAA, and ex-Saint Francis Benali, the alliance’s official ambassador was the guest speaker, which was compered by former Hampshire cricketer and BBC Radio Solent presenter, Kevan James.
There was also a special recognition award for Olympic Gold Medalist Dani Rowe from Hamble following her retirement from cycling.
