A MAJOR Hampshire was closed around nine hours yesterday after a collision involving two lorries.

All northbound lanes on the A272 at Three Maids Hill, near Winchester, were closed after one of the lorries overturned on the adjoining A34 roundabout.

Police also said Andover Road North, which joins the roundabout from the south, was closed.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said on Monday: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision involving two lorries on the roundabout at Three Maids Hill, A34.

"The incident was reported at 8.57am. One of the lorries has overturned and a closure has been put in place with diversions while the vehicles are being recovered and a diesel spill is being cleared.

"No serious injuries have been reported."

In an update, Hampshire Constabulary's roads policing unit said on Twitter: "Andover Road North will be closed for sometime. Recovery are on scene."

All lanes were reopened at around 6pm.
