THREE community organisations in Hampshire have received grants thanks to the Chronicle’s parent company sister foundation.
The Gannett Foundation, run by the owner of Chronicle publisher Newsquest, supports non profit activities within local communities.
This year the foundation is supporting three community projects.
Winchester Street Reach, that works with young disadvantaged people will receive £5,740 for a three day camping trip for disadvantaged people between the ages of 11 and 18.
The Romsey Men’s Shed is to get £2,000 to extend a workshop which will provide the charity with additional storage space. The charity aims to tackle social isolation among older men.
The Rose Road Association, based at the Bradbury Centre, in Aldermoor Road, Southampton, a charity that works with children and adults across Hampshire who are disabled will receive a grant of £5,861.
