SCORES of extra lights added to the seasonal glow in Romsey last night when the annual lantern parade took to the streets around the town centre.
The parade was part of the annual late night shopping event, organised by Romsey Chamber of Commerce, which enjoyed a fine evening after a wet start to the day.
The highlight of the evening was the arrival of Father Christmas, who required rescuing from the second storey of the townhall by the town’s firefighters after misjudging his landing.
A crowd gathered in Market Place to watch his descent.
Following his rescue Santa travelled to his grotto set up in Bradbeers.
