WINCHESTER Guildhall was filled with happy faces and beaming vintners at this year’s two-day wine festival.

Lovers of the drink came from all over the county to celebrate some of the finest wines in Hampshire.

They were also able to clink glasses with the BBC’s wine experts, Susie Barrie and Peter Richards, who were on hand to show guests around and recommend the tastiest bottles the festival had to offer.

Susie and Peter were two of the many experts offering masterclasses throughout the day.

Representatives from the Alresford-based wineries Hattingley Valley and Raimes were on hand to deliver special lessons on the highest-rated sparkling wines - and tasters were far from scarce.

A prize draw was held and a range of exclusive rewards were given out, including a Riedel Performance decanter worth £175 and a £50 voucher for Kyoto Kitchen in Parchment Street.

All money raised from entries will be combined with the money paid at the cloakroom and donated to Winchester GO LD charity.

Each guest left the Guildhall with a free wine glass and bag in hand.
