EVERY cyclist is invited to take part in a mass ride in Winchester on Saturday, December 15 from 10am.
The event has been organised by Cycle Winchester, a community action group, that campaigns to improve things for cyclists.
Rides will depart from three locations: Kings Worthy, outside Tesco Express on Springvale Road; Harestock, outside Tesco Express on Priors Dean Road; and Badger Farm, by the Sainsburys emergency exit on Meadow Way.
The three routes to the city centre are around three miles.
The three rides plan to unite at 10.40am to being two laps of the city’s one-way system.
Then the riders will gather at 11am Abbey Gardens for a celebratory photograph.
Its aim is to create a better Winchester by promoting cycling as a convenient, healthy and inexpensive way to get around the city, as well as campaign for improved provision for cyclists.
It also hopes to reduce congestion and pollution.
