POLICE have released a new CCTV of a man they want to speak to following a burglary in Southampton.

It comes just hours after officers released an image of the man, following a burglary in Bassett this week.

But police say they now have clearer CCTV image.

On social media, Hampshire Constabulary said: "Earlier today we released an image of a man we'd like to identify as part of enquiries into a burglary in Southampton.

"We now have a much clearer CCTV image that we are able to release."

Police say a Playstation 4, an iPhone 7 and a laptop, was stolen from the home in Bassett Crescent.

The burglary took place around 2.40pm on Monday, October 15.

Officers are linking it to two similar incidents which took place that same afternoon.

A man was seen acting suspiciously in the back garden of a house in Pentire Avenue, Shirley, at around 1.30pm but left the area when he was disturbed.

Then at 2pm, a man tried to break into a house on Redhill Crescent, Bassett, but was unsuccessful.

Police would like to identify and talk to the man in the image as he may be able to assist with their enquiries.

If you know who he is, or witnessed any of these incidents, the call police on 101, quoting 44180388430, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
