NEARLY £800 has been raised by villagers near Winchester to help fight cancer.
That comes as the Sparsholt Shop Coffee Morning, held in support of cancer charity Macmillan, was labelled as an ‘outstanding success’.
The event, held at the end of last month, was organised by Janette Davies and held on the Memorial Ground in the middle of the
village.
Dozens of residents and friends of the village came out to support the fundraising event, with generous donations of cakes and biscuits made.
Following the event, organisers said: “The event raised almost £800 and our thanks go to all those who baked, helped on the day and importantly came along and supported the event.”
The event was supported by Winchester City Council leader and ward councillor Caroline Horrill, pictured in the background sporting her apron.
