A CAR that used to belong to Rod Stewart featured as part of a popular motoring event near Sutton Scotney last week.

The rockstar’s canary yellow Lamborghini Miura was one of the many classic cars on display at the Winchester Auto Barn and Drivers’ Club Saturday Breakfast.

Two hundred car fans attended the gathering at the former Hill Farm Garage at the junction of the A272 and A30 and were given the chance to admire a range of models and makes.

The family event was the first of many planned for Hill Farm Garage by new owner and Winchester resident Niall Holden, who is set to rename the site Winchester Auto Barn and Drivers’ Club.

He said: “Obviously we’re going to continue the garage’s core business of servicing and MOT-ing local cars.

“But I’ve been collecting classics all my life and know there are plenty of others out there who share the same passion and might have a gem hidden in their garage.

“If you’re an enthusiast, get in touch and come along. And, yes, that counts if you happen to be Rod Stewart.”

Among the cars on show were two classic 1970s Ford Escorts.
