IT’s a celebration of the fertility of the land, providing us with the food that we need.

The Harvest Weekend at Winchester Cathedral saw thousands of people pop into the Cathedral Close to see the dozens of displays on offer.

Saturday was marred by poor weather but Sunday saw the sun come out, fitting for an event that celebrates farming.

There was lots to see; old tractors and new tractors, carriage rides and lots of stalls showing off the produce of the county, from vegetables, to meat and wine.

Falconry displays and farm animals captivated the attention of visitors and local farmers were kept busy by the bustle of customers at their market stalls.

A special evensong to celebrate the harvest took place inside the cathedral on Sunday to draw an end to another successful year of the Hampshire festival.
