A FAMOUS musician cut the ribbon to a state of the art studio in Winchester earlier this month.
Andy Burrows, former Razorlight drummer and now a successful solo artist, was on hand to unveil Winchester Theatre Arts’ new rehearsal space in Kings Worthy.
As a previous student of the school, Andy was happy to return and brought his daughter along to celebrate.
Principal Claire Goodwin said: “It was great to have Andy back. He said the school gave him a lot of confidence.
“Just before Razorlight were about to go number one, he phoned me to let me know.”
Claire started the school 42 years ago and now has about 170 students learning at the Winchester Theatre Arts.
She said: “I’m very excited about this new studio. Since starting up the school it’s all I’ve ever wanted.
“The new place is behind the hall we always use so it means we can all stay in one place.
“I’m hoping this development brings in new students to join our family.”
