WINCHESTER civic chiefs say military parades in Winchester will be unaffected by the permanent anti-terrorist measures.
The city whose military links stretch back to Roman times, has long hosted parades by regiments including the Royal Hampshire Regiment and The Rifles.
The city council recently decided to make permanent the barriers installed to deter a Nice-style attack.
A spokesman said: “Winchester City Council is proud of its historical links with the military. The council and relevant military organisations have discussed the potential impact that the security bollards on the High Street could have on ceremonial events. The council can confirm that the military routes will remain the same.”
