DAVID James Thorn has been ordered to undertake a drug treatment programme after being caught stealing from a department store.

Thorn, 36, of Jewry Street, Winchester, pleaded guilty to staking fragrance and two packs of clothing valued at £114 from Debenhams on the High Street on July 13.

Magistrates imposed a community order for him to get treatment over nine months at the Society of St James. There was a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement plus on order to pay an £85 victim surcharge.

There was no order for costs because of his lack of means.
