PLANS to turn a storage barn falling into disrepair into living accommodation and an occasional B&B in Sparsholt have been approved.
Proposals were submitted to renovate The Post House, in Woodman Lane, which is located behind the village shop.
According to a heritage statement the barn is “important visually at the centre of the village and has historic importance in the conservation area”.
The statement added that the plan is to “maintain the barn in its present form as far as possible”.
However one neighbour, Leslie Barron, objected to the plans arguing: "This could be the 'thin edge of a wedge' leading to construction of another house."
Sparsholt Parish Council also raised concerns, but moved to support the plans.
