CAMPAIGNERS are waiting with with bated breath for a decision over a controversial housing scheme.

The row over the proposals, for 7 Stoney Lane in Weeke, was reignited after developers submitted revised proposals.

The scheme, at 7 Stoney Lane, would have seen the home replaced with one three and one four bedroom semi-detached house, and a terrace of two three-bed, and one two-bed homes at the rear of the site.

As previously reported, neighbours were jubilant after Winchester City Council's planning committee threw out the plans, despite a planning officer recommending approval.

However, the new proposal, which would see four homes rather than five, have received nearly 30 objections so far.

A decision had been expected in late April/ early May, but as the Chronicle went to press, none had been made.

The plans will likely go before the city council's planning committee, as the original scheme did, with the next meeting scheduled for Thursday May 24.
